Life is Like Kindergarten Basketball

I learned a valuable lesson watching Ethan’s first basketball game!  Life, or the game, is what you make it!  For him, it was all about fun!  In the first quarter, he ran off the court (during the game) to go hug Mimi and Pops who drove all the way in from Okeechobee.  Then he ran by Nana & Papa and gave big thumbs up.  He drank a lot of Gatorade and smiled at us a lot!  In the second quarter he ran off his home court, past his referee into the other ongoing basketball game, through all of those kids playing, circled their referee twice, and then ran back to his home court to shoot a basket.  He missed, but we were all laughing and cheering so hard he never noticed that he missed to basket!  He was having too much fun!
Running to give Mimi & Pops hugs.

Why run when you can skip?
Walking along the court before his big break and amazing run!

Normal Saturday!

I don’t know what your family does on Saturday’s but mine…..well my reluctant Kindergartner wanted to do school.  We did some cutting, reading, and three math worksheets.  LOVE this excitement and the joy that comes from homeschooling!

BACK TO SCHOOL!

Is there anything better than the first day of school?  Is there anything more exciting than new notebooks, pencils, pens, folders, or the smell of new books?  This year we started Labor Day, yes, I KNOW that it is a holiday, but Daddy was home and I wanted him to share in our schooling excitement!
What a great day it was.  Ethan has been a little reluctant about being homeschooled, after all Maggie & John Robert both went to a private school for Kindergarten.  When we asked him what was wrong, he was sad he wasn’t going to have his own desk.  Thanks to a fellow homeschooling Mom, that problem was solved!  YAY for our new school year!  We are rocking out 7th Grade, 3rd Grade, and Kindergarten!
